Notes for Retreat Participants

The planned schedule as noted previously is the guideline and subject to change as the retreat unfolds. A Deep River host will arrive at Ogilvie's around 3 PM for the early arrivals, but registration will start at ~5 PM in the dining hall.

All participants are required to sign the waiver available for your preview, but you or your guardian must sign at the retreat. I will have blank forms there.

Upon registration we will let you know of your cabin assignment, here is a site layout .

For directions to Ogilvie's, the beach class location (Burke's Beach), and Deep River see this saved Google Map. Note the closest hospital is in Deep River.

The Ogilvies ask that you bring your own towels for showers and swimming. For those staying at the cabins, bed linens and pillows are included, though you may prefer to bring your own pillow. The water is safe for swimming and a nice temperature as it is a spring-fed lake, but note there is no lifeguard. You are free to use the canoes and paddle boards, lifejackets are also available (water depth is less than 3 metres). The lake has been stocked with fish. Wood for the fire pit is available (no charge). There is a horseshoe pit, net for volleyball or badminton, and basketball nets. Some cabins have TV and Satellite but not all, so make friends with the ones that have it you want it ;).

You are responsible for all your own meals and beverages, I suggest bringing groceries, but there are restaurants in the area if you do not want to cook. There is a Valumart in Deep River and Freddie's Convenience store on Hwy 17 between Deep River and Ogilvies. Those travelling through Mattawa on your way, can stop there for groceries. For the BBQ on Saturday, retreat will be used to provide salads and desserts to go with whatever you bring to put on the grills (propane provided). Each cabin has a full kitchen, though group dining using the dining hall and attached kitchen is also available.

Last but certainly not least, BYOBS (Bring Your Own Bug Spray), this isn't the city.
